My old Rextron, five years by my side,

creaks and aches like an aging friend.

We’re both becoming relics—

but your sturdy legs still know no bounds.

You’ve taken me to the edge of the land,

to where the sea tastes like wind,

to Busan’s salt and bustle,

to where Mt. Geumgang fades into Goseong,

and down snow-swept rivers like Donggang.

A worn machine, yet rolling like Earth itself—

bearing my weary years with grace.

Shiny new cars abound,

but none as humble as you,

after 230,000 kilometers without complaint,

carrying my sixty-four years and silent thoughts.

Pecking at solitude,

you keep moving.

“The truest companion

is the simplest one.”
